Do you enter trip sweepstakes ?
I used to enter.. then I stopped.. now I started again.
Some trip sweepstakes leave you only a few days to get ready.. others have extremely high ARV. Your thoughts? |

I used to never enter for trips because I didn't want to pay taxes on the high ARVs, but I started doing some (really depends on the trip) since winning a trip would provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I would otherwise never have the chance and/or the money to do so.
 I agree with guilly - I primarily aim for IWGs and if there's a trip included as a GP prize, then sure. Last edited by capwind; 06-02-2009 at 11:57 PM. |

I avoid them like the plague
 And yet, somehow, they still find me. ( You know - I'm entering for a smaller prize and get the trip. ) But I don't enter them intentionally. I'm not much of a traveller these days.Good luck, those of you who want a trip! Pretend you don't want one and then you'll win one.  Darn - hit the wrong poll button. Wanted the "I have no idea what's going on" one. Well, no, wait - that's reserved for dstam only, right?

I make it a point to enter those. Chances to go someplace you may never be able to afford to go. SIGN ME up.
Surprising I don't play that many IWG. Probably about 30 of whats out there right now.I am horrible at those. Most of my wins come form the hard to enter ones and dailys.

It depends on the sweep. Normally I don't, but if it's for a trip to Hawaii, I will. Mr Freebies has been dying to get out there to see the USS Arizona Memorial, so a trip to Hawaii, if we extended it a few days on our dime (and only if we had to), would allow him to get there.
Otherwise, I don't enter sweeps with JUST a trip as the prize. If there are numerous prizes, and one happens to be a trip, I enter.

I agree with cap and dstam. It could offer a once in a lifetime opportunity, and my thoughts are that the taxes aren't too outragous when factored into your total income in the grand scheme of things. Unless that is it has a ridiculous ARV, such as Australia and some of them where they assign a value out of thin air (meeting celebrities, etc).
