Thread Expiration Feature

We here at FRG like to keep things new and fresh. We like for you guys, the ones who keep us going to have new features that inspire you to be here.

So with that said, I'd like to introduce Expiry Threads.

What is it? Well, it's a way for you to choose when a specific contest, sweep, etc expires without having to list it in the thread title. We'll no longer be doing it this way, rather utilizing the new feature.

Some of the features include:

Complete colored legend to distinguish when threads expire
Ability to select an expiry date on new thread or edit thread
Sort expiry threads by column
Sort expiry threads by custom dropdown

Please Note: This feature at first will only be available in the contests forum until we get accustomed to it. From there it will branch out to subforums and other forums were we see fit. Thank you!

Soooo......we're not moving the expired threads to the Expired C&S section anymore?

Question when a thread expires at say 4PM on any given day. Put the day in the area but put the odd time in the thread???

Freeb's, we are...it'll be handled by an automated process once we get that implemented. Manual moving will no longer be needed. We'll let you know when we start that process. Basically we'll be running a job every night that moves the threads for us. Again, we'll let ya know. In the meantime, you can leave the threads where they are.

dstam, I'm guessing that may be a rare occurance. However it a contest expires at 4PM or other, we'll just have to make sure it states that in the thread itself. The expiry date will then probably be a little off, however we can't really account for that sorta offset at this point in time. I hope that makes sense.

I spent over an hour the other day moving expireds and I was talking to Kotik and he told me not to bother...you guys were working on a new feature that does it automatically

Now its a lot easier for busy people like me. I usually enter a lot of contests right before they expire.
